bio

I am a ceramic and print artist focusing on bringing conversations surrounding fear and anxiety into functional ceramic-ware and hand printed wall pieces in a way that validates the human experience of existential dread. I am currently pursuing a BFA in Fine Arts at the University of Cincinnati’s Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. I have interned at Covington Clay twice where I was able to educate and inspire other creatives in the field of ceramics by giving demos and providing support during classes. I will be spending an internship with Core Clay this Fall, continuing to strengthen skills as an instructor and studio ceramicist.

My work is inspired by the cosmic horror genre spurred on by HP Lovecraft, but also brings in elements of surrealism, nihilism, and absurdism. The fear driven narratives of Junji Ito, the character and creature building of Lovecraft and Ray VanTilburg, and the atmosphere and environment of Tim White all influence my own subject matter and composition. I bring creepy, uncanny characters and surrealistic dreamscapes into my own work to emphasize cosmic insignificance and question purpose in existence.

I currently live and work in Cincinnati, but I love traveling with my family. I love spending time outdoors hiking and kayaking as a way to relieve stress and ground myself. I have two adopted beagles, Thor and Biscuit, who have inspired characters within my work.
